WCI Electricity Committee Undertakes Eastern Electricity Emissions Leakage Study
With technical assistance from Navigant
Consulting, the WCI Electricity Committee has initiated an eastern electricity
emissions leakage study for Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec. The study will
address the concern that reductions in fossil-fired electricity generation
within these jurisdictions may be offset by increases in fossil-fired
generation in non-WCI jurisdictions that is then imported into WCI jurisdictions.
The study should be completed in October.
