Description
The Washington State Department of Ecology and the WCI will host a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Benchmarking Symposium from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm on May 19 at The Westin Seattle in downtown Seattle, WA.

The Washington Department of Ecology has engaged the Seattle office of the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) to prepare a white paper, Issues and Options for Benchmarking Industrial GHG Emissions. This paper will form the basis of the discussion at the Symposium, and examines a number of industrial sectors in detail including: aluminum, cement, chemicals, food processing, pulp and paper, steam, and steel. SEI worked with representatives from each of those sectors as they developed this preliminary draft, which will be finalized after the Symposium. Additional background information – including the scoping memo for this project – at Ecology’s website.
Stakeholders are invited to attend in-person or via teleconference. There is no charge to participate in the meeting, but participants planning to attend in-person are asked to register to ensure sufficient capacity. Click here to register.
