The WCI has released the final version of the first group of Essential Requirements for Mandatory Reporting (ERMR). This release includes general provisions governing all reporters; requirements for third-party verification; and greenhouse gas monitoring, reporting and record keeping methodologies for the following source categories:
It is anticipated that WCI jurisdictions will have rules implementing theseessential requirements in place for the 2010 reporting year or as soon thereafter as possible. The WCI continues to work on the development of additional methodologies forother source categories, including zinc production; lead production; copper and nickel production; glass production and other uses of carbonates; ferroalloyproduction; electronics manufacturing; HCFC-22 production; ammoniamanufacturing; magnesium production; nitric acid manufacturing; phosphoric acidproduction; SF6 from electrical equipment; coal mine fugitive emissions;nonroad equipment at certain industrial facilities; gas processing plants;transportation fuel suppliers; residential, commercial and industrial fuelsuppliers; upstream oil and gas production; natural gas distribution and carbondioxide transfers. The WCI plans to issue draft methodologies for many of thesecategories for stakeholder review later this summer. |
